Appointments can be made with the receptionist either at the surgery or over the telephone.
- Urgent Appointments (Same Day) - when you call the surgery for a same day appointment, you will be asked your name, a brief description of your problem and a contact telephone number. If the emergency appointments have already gone for that day, you will be offered a triage call by one of the GPs who will assess you over the phone.
- Within 48 hours - if your condition is non-urgent you can usually see a GP within 2 working days, though you may have to wait longer if you wish to see a particular GP.
- Routine - if you do not need an appointment within 2 working days you also have the option to book a routine appointment in advance.
If all appointments have been filled for the day another option is for a telephone consultation.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Our practice nurses work in the treatment room and typical matters dealt with include immunisations, holiday vaccinations, blood tests, dressings, cervical smears and health promotion work such as running specialised clinics for patients with heart disease, diabetes asthma etc. They are also available for consultation and advice on health related matters.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
